Train to become a Cooper through our four-year, work-based, assessed programme. For the first three years, you’ll gain in-depth knowledge of the history of coopering while developing the hands-on skills and techniques of the craft. In your final year, you’ll progress into mechanical cooperage, building on your expertise to master modern processes.

Our qualified Coopers play a key role in preserving the traditional craft of cask making and repair. With expert woodwork knowledge and practical skills, they restore and maintain casks of all sizes to the highest standards. Our operators play a key role in supporting daily operations. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, assisting with cask handling, and carrying out general maintenance tasks.
