About us
Oakwood Cooperage is the largest independent cooperage in the UK, specialising in the trade, rejuvenation and management of casks for the whisky industry. We pride ourselves on our Scottish heritage and the traditional coopering methods that underpin our innovative spirit.
Founded in 2018 by the award-winning master cooper Brent Bowie, Oakwood serves local and international whisky distilleries from strategic Scottish sites in Speyside and Strathclyde. In 2022, we gained investment from the Charlois Group to support and strengthen our global expansion plans.

Brent Bowie, a British master cooper and entrepreneur, brings together traditional skills, entrepreneurship, and a focus on quality. Thanks to his leadership, Oakwood is well known in the global whisky industry.
