Operator

Join Oakwood Cooperage as an Operator and help with the smooth day-to-day running of our operations. You’ll be part of a team that supports the production, repair, and handling of whisky casks. A practical, hands-on role—ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work. We provide full training and opportunities to develop new skills, offering a clear pathway for progression within the cooperage and the wider whisky industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload casks, timber, and related materials.

  • Assist with cask handling, preparation, and repair processes.

  • Operate vehicles and machinery as required (training provided).

  • Perform general maintenance and keep work areas clean and organised.

  • Use hand and power tools under supervision.

  • Follow strict health and safety protocols at all times.
