As Chief Executive Officer of the Charlois Group, Charles leads one of the world’s leading oak companies, shaping its international strategy and operations, including Oakwood Cooperage.

Charles de Lorgeril comes from a family of winegrowers, bringing a deep-rooted understanding of land, forestry, and long-term stewardship. His career spans international business, forestry, and organisational development, giving him a broad and practical perspective on building and developing businesses.

Today, he leads the Charlois Group, which brings together companies across the oak value chain, from sustainable forest management through to the production of premium oak products for the wine, spirits, and wider design industries. The group operates across Europe and North America, supplying customers in more than 60 countries.

Since Charlois’ investment in Oakwood, Charles has played a central role in supporting the company’s expansion, strengthening its international position, and aligning it with the wider group’s long-term strategy.

His leadership is grounded in a strong respect for craftsmanship, the people behind it, and the material itself. He is committed to responsible, sustainable growth, supporting the continuation of traditional skills, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the long-term future of the oak supply chain.
